Well today is the first day of March. Not an auspicious beginning for the month that marks the beginning of spring, but it stayed true the the old saying. This lion-like storm may lead to the third snow-day of the semester, and the second Monday in a row. There are times when I will literally pray for a day off from school, and am either devastated when it doesn't happen, or ecstatic when it does. This leads me to wonder about the importance of education in our culture. When I so badly want to escape from the hallowed halls of higher education that I pray for terrible storms so that I won't have to go to classes, does that say something about me? That I am doing what is society's expectation and going to school even though my heart isn't in it? Or is it simply the overall laziness of America's youth? I don't have the answers, and maybe no one does. It's just the changing of the world. There was a time, and place, where someone who could be educated was lucky beyond belief. Maybe I'll hope for school to be open tomorrow. Okay, that's a lie.
Good evening, sweet blogverse. Enjoy the snow.
